IRA J. BERMAN, M.D.
Dr. Berman is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and The University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also completed his dermatology training. Currently, Dr. Berman is a consultant in Dermatology to Medicare and Highmark Blue Shield. He has served as an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and as an instructor at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Dr. Berman is a leader in the field of dermatology.  He is a past president of The Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and former Chief of Dermatology at York Hospital. He is an expert in product formulation and served on the Board of Trustees of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology.

In addition, Dr. Berman is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and maintains memberships in several professional specialty societies, including:

  • American Academy of Dermatology
  • American Society of Dermatologic Surgery
  • Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology
  • Pennsylvania Medical Society
  • York County Medical Society

Dr. Berman currently holds staff privileges at all of the local area hospitals, including York Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Hanover Hospital and Gettysburg Hospital.  He also participates in the York Hospital dermatology clinic and provides dermatology training for medical residents from the various hospitals.

Dr. Berman is a founding partner of Dermatology Associates of York, Inc., and has been practicing in the York community since July, 1978.

 

JOHN G. STONER, M.D.
Dr. Stoner is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, where he went to Case Western Reserve Medical School. He completed his dermatology training at the University of Michigan. This was followed by board certification in dermatology.  He subsequently completed a fellowship in dermatologic surgery and Mohs surgery at the same university.

Following his dermatologic surgery fellowship, he served on the faculty at the University of Michigan. He was also an Assistant Professor at both Johns Hopkins and Hershey Medical Center. He served as Chief of Dermatologic Surgery at Johns Hopkins for 5 years and he has held the position of Chief of Dermatology at York Hospital.

Dr. Stoner joined Dermatology Associates of York, Inc. in July 1983. Dr. Stoner is an accomplished dermatologic surgeon and was the first person in central PA to perform Mohs microscopic surgery, a highly technical and precise way to remove and cure skin cancers.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations which include:

  • American Society of Dermatologic Surgery
  • Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology
  • Pennsylvania Medical Society
  • York County Medical Society

Dr. Stoner participates in the York Hospital dermatology clinic and was instrumental in setting up annual skin cancer screening clinics for the community.  In the past, Dr. Stoner assisted in providing dermatology training to medical students from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, The University of Maryland, and the Philadelphia Osteopathic School of Medicine. He currently is involved with training programs through the local area hospitals.     

In addition to his office practices, Dr. Stoner also serves as a member of the dermatology department at all of the area hospitals, including York Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Hanover Hospital and Gettysburg Hospital.

 

 

 


STEVEN E. CAPLAN, M.D.
Dr. Caplan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Johns Hopkins Bayview/FSK Medical Center and received his dermatology training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Caplan is on staff at both of York’s premier hospitals, York Hospital and Memorial Hospital.  He is currently serving as Chief of Dermatology at York Hospital.  He participates in the York Hospital dermatology clinic and is active in providing dermatology training for family practice residents from these hospitals.  Dr. Caplan also serves on the staff of both Hanover Hospital and Gettysburg Hospital.

 

Dr. Caplan is Board Certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and holds memberships in several specialty associations including:

  • American Academy of Dermatology
  • American Society of Dermatologic Surgery
  • Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology
  • Pennsylvania Medical Society
  • York County Medical Society

Dr. Caplan has a special interest in the use of Botox injections for cosmetic purposes and in the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Dr. Caplan joined Dermatology Associates of York, Inc. in July 1996.  He was instrumental in establishing the Center for Cosmetic Dermatology, a division of Dermatology Associates, in August 2004. 

JOHN G. STONER, JR., D.O.

Dr Stoner, Jr., is a graduate of Lehigh University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed a one year internship and an additional year of residency in Family Practice at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Stoner completed his dermatology training at the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown where he also served as Chief Medical Resident from 2010 to 2011.  During his training, Dr. Stoner received several awards including the national 2010 Koprince Award and the 2011 James Bernard, D.O., FAOCD, AOCD Residency Leadership Award, both from the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

Dr. Stoner is Board Certified in dermatology by the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and hold memberships in several specialty associations including:

  • American Academy of Dermatology
  • Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology
  • Pennsylvania Medical Society
  • York County Osteopathic Medical Society

In addition to serving the community by participating in the York Hospital dermatology clinic, Dr. Stoner also provides dermatology training for residents from Memorial Hospital.  He holds staff positions at all local hospitals, including York, Memorial, Hanover and Gettysburg Hospitals. 

Dr Stoner joined Dermatology Associates of York in August 2011.  He practices general and surgical dermatology, with a special interest in diagnosis and treatment of bullous disorders. 

LAURA S. SPEARS, M.D.
Dr. Spears is a graduate of Brown University and The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo. Prior to her joining Dermatology Associates, she worked as a staff dermatologist for the Veterans Hospital in Lebanon. 

Dr. Spears currently serves on the staff at all of the area hospitals, including York Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Hanover Hospital and Gettysburg Hospital.  She actively participates in the dermatology clinic at York Hospital and in providing dermatology training to the medical residents from the various hospitals.

Dr. Spears is fully credentialed, including board certification by the American Board of Dermatology, and has active memberships in numerous professional organizations.

Dr. Spears joined Dermatology Associates of York in July, 1985.

 

LUCIANO J. IORIZZO, III, M.D.

Dr. Iorizzo is originally from a small city in upstate New York. He graduated from Union College with a bachelor of science. He then went on to complete his medical school training at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and stayed there for a one year internship in internal medicine.

Following this, Dr. Iorizzo completed his dermatology residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. During this time he served as Chief Resident from 2010-2011. After his residency, he went to Vanderbilt Medical University in Nashville, TN. At Vanderbilt, Dr. Iorizzo received training in the highly specialized area of Mohs micrographic surgery. After his fellowship, Dr. Iorizzo worked in Albany, NY for three years as a Mohs surgeon and dermatologist.


Dr. Iorizzo is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He is also a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. Throughout his career, Dr. Iorizzo has numerous journal and book publications including articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He has also presented numerous times at local, regional, and national conferences.

Dr. Iorizzo holds staff positions at all local hospitals, including York, Memorial, Hanover, and Gettysburg Hospitals. He also participates in dermatology clinic at York Hospital.


Dr. Iorizzo joined Dermatology Associates of York in August 2015. He specializes in the
diagnosis and treatment of all forms of skin cancer, performs Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers, and practices general dermatologic surgery.

HEATHER L. SALVAGGIO, M.D.

Dr. Heather L. Salvaggio is a graduate of the State University of New York, College at Geneseo and the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed a one year internship in internal medicine at York Hospital in York, PA. Her general dermatology training was completed at the Penn State/Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. Dr. Salvaggio additionally completed a fellowship, specialized training, in pediatric dermatology at Northwestern University Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.  Following this she was an attending dermatologist at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY practicing general and pediatric dermatology. She served as an assistant clinical professor of dermatology for the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons while in Cooperstown.

Dr. Salvaggio is Board Certified in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and she holds memberships in professional organizations including:

  • American Academy of Dermatology
  • Society for Pediatric Dermatology
  • Women’s Dermatologic Society
  • Pennsylvania Medical Society
  • York County Medical Society

Dr. Salvaggio holds staff positions at York, Memorial, Hanover and Gettysburg Hospitals. She participates in the York Hospital dermatology clinic.

Dr. Salvaggio has presented at national meetings and has written several publications. She joined Dermatology Associates of York in January 2016. She practices general medical and surgical dermatology and pediatric dermatology which is her area of special interest and expertise.

AMANDA D. HAUGH, PA-C

Amanda received her Master's degree in Health Sciences - Physician Assistant Program from Drexel University in Philadelphia.  She is also a graduate of Penn State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biobehavioral Health.  She is a member of the American Associates of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatologic Physician Assistants.

Amanda joined Dermatology Associates of York in October 2008 .

REBECCA FARQUHAR, PA-C

Rebecca holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine, School of Allied Health in Houston, Texas.  She also graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Exercise Science from Gettysburg College.  Rebecca previously worked in a primary care family practice office for two years prior to joining Dermatology Associates.

Rebecca joined Dermatology Associates of York in January 2010 .

KELLY P. MCNULTY, PA-C

Kelly holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from King's College in Wilkes Barre, PA.  She graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  Kelly has over 7 1/2 years' experience in orthopedics. Prior to her pursuing her career as a  Physician Assistant, Kelly worked in education teaching first and second grade.

Kelly joined Dermatology Associates of York in June 2016.
